Sunday cooking tanka

sunday cooking
a soup for the whole family
after 18 years of marriage
noticing what we've missed--
a bit more spice

minggu memasak
sup untuk seluruh keluarga
setelah 18 tahun menikah
baru ingat ada yang kelupaan
rada kurang rempah-rempah

do the corn seeds miss
the lightning?

hujan rintik
benih-benih jagung
merindu petir?

how can i not be blue
my mom called and cried
for missing me
and so did my son
for his missing toy

bagaimana bisa tersenyum
di telepon ibuku menangis
katanya kangen aku
sedang anakku merengek
kehilangan mainan
